Merry Christmas

Jesus came with several messages.  The one that informs our lifes in Habitat for Humanity is:  “Tend My Sheep.”  And, he was not talking about sheep.   What will you be doing next year to help tend Jesus’ sheep?

Where the Money Goes

On Saturday, 3 Dec 2011, Hardin County Habitat for Humanity dedicated its 42d house since our founding in 1992.  Half of the money to build this house came from a annonymous donor.  About a fourth came from the house payment made monthly by our homeowners.  The rest cames from fundraising activities, such as the ReStore. Fortunately, this house had a sponsor, but that is not always the case.  Two houses currently under construction have no sponsor. That means we have to make up $64,000 that we would have expected from sponsors.  Your donations and purchases at the ReStore are what we will be depending on to make up that difference.  So, clean your attic, your basement and your garage and bring all that stuff that you have been tripping over for the last few years to the ReStore.  It will sell and you will then be a part of the next house.
